The String Band With A Leg Up On Old Time Music

Long John and the Tights is an old time string band from Ithaca, New York. We play music that became popular in the southern Appalachian mountains from around 1920 - 1940, mixing in some elements of today's celtic, bluegrass, and northern square & contra-dance music.

John Hoffmann plays fiddle with Stefan Senders on 5-string banjo, Randi Beckmann on piano, and Jim Reidy on banjo uke, and now with Jody Platt on tenor guitar.
